About Me
I've been writing Python code professionally for over nine years, starting out in computational biology at a university research lab and eventually making my way into backend engineering and data infrastructure. Python is the language that taught me to think clearly about problems, and I genuinely believe it's the best first language anyone can pick up. Whether I'm building ETL pipelines, automating workflows, or diving into a new machine learning framework, Python is always where I start and usually where I stay.
In my courses, I focus heavily on writing clean, idiomatic Python. I'm not interested in teaching you syntax and sending you on your way. I want you to understand the why behind every pattern you use, from list comprehensions to context managers to decorators. My students walk away with real projects in their portfolio and the confidence to read and contribute to open-source codebases. I keep things practical, explain my thought process out loud, and always make room for questions.
