About Me
I've spent the last fourteen years keeping Linux servers alive, most of them running Debian. Started as a junior sysadmin at a regional ISP, moved into infrastructure roles at larger shops, and now lead SRE for a financial services platform where uptime isn't optional. I've rebuilt production clusters at 2 AM in bad weather, written the runbooks that prevent the next outage, and broken things in ways I didn't know were possible. Debian is my distribution of choice because I trust it in environments where failure means real consequences.
In my courses, I teach what I've learned from incidents, not textbooks. You'll see real failure scenarios and walk through the recovery steps that actually work under pressure. I focus on the tools and patterns that hold up in production: package management that doesn't fight you, security policies that survive audits, and automation that saves you at 3 AM instead of creating new problems. My students leave knowing how to operate infrastructure that other people depend on.
