About Me
I've spent the last decade obsessing over letterforms, line heights, and the space between characters. What started as a side interest while studying graphic design at RISD turned into a full-blown specialty after I realized most broken interfaces come down to bad typography decisions. I've worked on type systems for apps used by millions, contributed to open-source design tools, and written extensively about how fonts shape the way people read and feel about digital products.
My teaching approach is direct and practical. I break down complex typographic concepts into rules you can apply on Monday morning. Students walk away knowing exactly how to pair fonts, build typographic scales, and set up vertical rhythm that holds up across screen sizes. No theory for theory's sake. Every lesson connects to real project work, and I push students to critique their own designs with a sharper eye.
